Õ¬Äи£Àû’s Relay for Life "Game Over Cancer" takes place April 11

VALDOSTA—Valdosta State University’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held from 7 p.m., April 11, to dawn on Saturday morning on the university’s front lawn.  The cancer survivor and caregivers walk begins at 7:30 p.m.

Õ¬Äи£Àû’s faculty, staff and students are invited to join together to celebrate, remember and help raise money in the fight against cancer.

According to John Wright, associate director of student life, 47 Õ¬Äи£Àû departments and student organizations are participating in this year’s Relay for Life and sponsoring fundraising events including “Dress Down Days” and “Penny Wars.” In addition, a putt-putt golf tournament will take place beginning at 3 p.m. on March 28 at Jungle Jym’s, located 3124 N. Oak Street Extension, cost is $20 per team of two.

Individuals can also recognize a loved one by purchasing luminaries for $5. The event will include activities and teams providing games, food and more to continue to raise money throughout the night.
